Sushi Chef | Kappo izakaya restaurant (major Japanese restaurant group )

A high-end Japanese izakaya restaurant (a major restaurant group) in Las Vegas, Nevada, is seeking a Sushi Chef.

 

<Job Summary>

  • Prepare, plate, and serve sushi

  • Procure and manage fresh fish and ingredients

  • Maintain hygiene standards and cleanliness in the kitchen to preserve sushi quality

  • Develop menu items and propose new recipes

  • Collaborate with and guide team members

  • Provide customer service (especially at the sushi counter)

  • Manage procurement, inventory, and ordering processes
  • Adjust the menu based on ingredient inventory levels

 

<Requirements>

  • Practical experience in sushi preparation (experience as a sushi chef is preferred)

  • Proficiency in fish handling and sushi techniques

  • Strong hygiene management skills and kitchen cleanliness expertise

  • Attention to detail and ability to perform precise tasks

  • Teamwork and leadership skills

  • Ability to work quickly and accurately

  • In-depth knowledge of ingredients and seasonings

  • Strong customer service orientation
