Site Electrical Superintendent

The Site Electrical Superintendent is primarily responsible for leading our electrical teams on site. This requires extensive knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) and a strong passion for safety. Position requires development of all technical documentation required to execute construction field installation activities to include work instructions, permits, etc.

These activities will include involvement in procurement, fabrication, installation, modification, maintenance, and testing of various system components. This position also involves oversight of all field installation activities including inspections and problem resolution which requires extensive interface and coordination with Design Engineering, Quality Control, Procurement, Start-up/Testing and Safety.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform field inspections and walk downs with craft supervision.
  • Identify and resolve field installation issues.
  • Mobilizing and demobilizing subcontractors while checking personnel and equipment belonging to the electrical contractor(s), verifying adequacy and capability while promoting actions required to achieve objectives.
  • Ensure that the construction works are carried out by the electrical subcontractor in conformance with the last updated plans, drawings, and specifications;
  • Lead and coordinate all site activities related to the electrical systems on site including the coordination of work between subcontractors.
  • Verify the work progress and the accounting submitted by the electrical subcontractors to ensure that all electrical and control testing and inspections are carried out in accordance with established schedules.
  • Assist with the change order and cost management of electrical contractors.
  • Manage cost and schedule for equipment delivery, shipping, receiving, and storage.
  • Support design review meetings and review/assemble bid documents andinformation, attend/chair project schedule meetings.
  • Develop installation sequence, generate work instructions and inspection and test records.Qualifications
  • Electrical training through a degree or apprenticeship.
  • At least 10 years of a combination of field and office experience with at least 5 years of direct supervision of crews on construction sites.
  • High voltage experience a plus.
  • Must be able to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents.
  • Ability to climb and walk down systems in the field.
  • Familiarity with all components related to electrical and control system panels as well as Class I Division 2 applications.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our small-firm culture is a must, along with a tolerance for ambiguity.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position oversees and coordinates the activities of the electrical contractors on the jobsite of assigned projects and is responsible for the performance management of the jobsite. Work EnvironmentWhile performing this job, the employee is required to frequently inspect the project and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must also occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and color vision.

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are specific to each project. Some flexibility in hours may be allowed as projects permit. This position may require long hours and often requires weekend work depending on project demands.

    Travel

    Travel is primarily local during the business day.
