In the purchasing department of a food manufacturer, responsible for developing purchasing strategies through market research and analysis, as well as managing the purchasing team.
＜Job Description＞
・Lead and manage the purchasing team.
・Conduct market research and analysis of raw materials, packaging materials, and other supplies.
・Analyze past data and develop and execute an annual purchasing plan based on data.
・Evaluate the compliance of raw material suppliers based on the Supplier Verification Program (SVP) and Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP).
・Negotiate with raw material suppliers, including pricing and other terms.
・Manage inventory of products, raw materials, and supplies.
・Prepare various data, materials, and regular reports.
・Other duties as needed, following instructions from the supervisor.
<Requirements>
・At least 5 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management in the food manufacturing industry.
・A university degree or equivalent qualification (preferably in related fields such as Supply Chain Management or Food Science).
・Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with multiple departments and interact with internal and external parties.
・Knowledge of the Supplier Verification Program (SVP) and Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP).
・Familiarity with regulations in the food industry (FDA, USDA, etc.), quality control standards, and health and safety regulations.
・Negotiation skills in building vendor relationships and managing costs.
・Ability to analyze and forecast demand, and make data-driven purchasing plans and decisions for the year.
・Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
・Strong leadership and team management skills.
・Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
・Languages: Fluent-level Japanese, Business-level English or higher.
