Senior Export Manager | Major Logistics Company

A large Japanese logistics company located in Los Angeles, CA near the South Bay is looking for a Senior Export Manager.

This company provides international transportation services and has offices throughout the world.

<Job Summary>

This position is responsible for the operations related to cargo imported by ocean or air for customs clearance.

<Job Description>

Coordinates all air and ocean export activities in accordance with HMS and relevant OCMM Matrix.
Responds to customer and employee questions via phone and email.
Assesses customer needs, determines optimal handling requirements, and monitors employees.
Coordinates air and ocean export schedules for employees.
Instructs employees on air and ocean export procedures.
Communicates with customers, arranges deliveries, and records proof of receipt.
Communicates with overseas agents and offices to request quotes and make changes.
Negotiates with vendors and carriers regarding services and rates.
Communicates with overseas agents and offices as needed.
Checks all required documentation to ensure accuracy.
Verifies documentation related to customer shipments of hazardous materials.
Ensures all documentation complies with export regulations.
Manage and lead employees for air and ocean exports.
Analyzes monthly profit and loss reports against ABM and BM.
Prepare and submit various reports to ABM/BM monthly, including top 10 customers and shipping information.
Responds to any projects assigned by supervisor/manager or company.
Constantly seeks improvements and more efficient and less costly methods in work processes.
Performs special projects and other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the management team.
Reports all unauthorized problems or issues to supervisor for resolution.
Maintains good communication with supervisor, other staff members, and outside contacts.

<Required Information>

Must have a U.S. work visa.
Have at least 2 years of export experience.
Business level English
Japanese language is a plus
