A Japanese food manufacturer located in Santa Fe Springs, California is looking for the candidate who can work as a Purchasing Staff position.
<Job Overview>
In a food manufacturing company, responsible for the procurement and inventory management of raw materials and supplies, as well as arranging transportation of goods.
<Job Description>
・Monitor and manage the inventory of raw materials, packaging, and various supplies stored in internal and external warehouses.
・Arrange transportation of materials between the factory and warehouse based on the production plan.
・Place orders for raw materials and supplies required for production based on production plans and inventory levels.
・Address any changes or issues that arise from order placement to delivery.
・Perform incoming goods checks, record them, and input data into the system.
・Conduct inventory audits and manage inventory of products, raw materials, and supplies.
・Implement domestic and international supplier verification programs.
・Negotiate various terms, including pricing, with raw material suppliers.
・Regularly summarize and report on prices and costs.
・Conduct market research and gather information on raw materials, packaging, and supplies.
・Other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
<Requirements>
・Experience in purchasing and procurement (1 year or more preferred).
・Ability to move between office and warehouse and place and confirm orders in a timely manner.
・Strong teamwork skills to collaborate with multiple departments and communicate effectively with internal and external parties.
・Understanding of purchasing and inventory management, with the aptitude to learn if inexperienced.
・Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
・Basic math skills.
・Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel: Able to manage inventory tables and create graphs using basic functions).
・Languages: Japanese (Business-level to Fluent), English (Business-level or higher).
