A major Japanese food manufacturer in Irvine, CA is looking for an individual to serve as an Outside Sales position.
<Job Overview>
The primary responsibility is to build relationships with customers in the assigned territory and expand accounts by promoting and selling the company’s products for commercial use.
<Job Description>
・Set sales markets, quotas, and goals, and coordinate and determine sales distribution.
・Review production schedules and determine sales potential and inventory requirements for current and new customers.
・Develop marketing strategies aligned with established objectives, market characteristics, and cost factors.
・Plan and coordinate marketing activities to promote products in collaboration with relevant departments.
・Attend food shows to generate new sales leads.
・Customer service: Handle customer inquiries by phone or email, investigate issues, provide solutions, report findings, and offer recommendations to management to resolve customer complaints.
・Contact customers to obtain purchase orders (PO) and address PO-related issues, including order adjustments.
・Travel to meet with current and potential customers/clients.
・Spend 50% or more of the time outside the office, conducting sales activities and obtaining orders from prospective or current clients.
・Submit weekly sales status reports to the National Sales Manager as requested.
・Contribute to the team’s success by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
※Note: Business trips are expected 3-4 times per year. Company cars are provided, so employees will not need to use personal vehicles.
＜Required Qualifications＞
・Language: English (Business level or above), Japanese (Business level or above)
・2-3 years of relevant work experience
・High school diploma or equivalent
・Ability to handle rejection and overcome objections
・Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with effective presentation abilities
・Strong organizational skills
・Valid California driver’s license and proof of insurance
・Enjoys traveling
・Knowledge of Microsoft Office
