A high-end Japanese restaurant in Los Altos, California and a cafe in Palo Alto, California is seeking an experienced Operation Manager to join the team.
You will be responsible for supporting two locations and will be required to work between both stores as needed.
The restaurant includes an omakase sushi section, and you will be responsible for overseeing both areas in a well-balanced manner. With the opening of our new café, we are seeking someone who can take initiative and actively support the launch. This position involves not only management duties but also hands-on participation in daily operations.
<Responsibilities>
・Oversee overall store operations
・Manage staff scheduling, attendance, and performance
・Develop and conduct onboarding and training programs for new employees
・Create and improve SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
・Handle HR-related tasks (recruitment support, evaluations, employee check-ins, etc.)
・Conduct service and quality checks
・Support event and catering operations
・Optimize workflow processes and resolve on-site issues
<Requirements>
・Valid U.S. work authorization
・Interest in barista work and matcha
・Minimum 5 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, with front-of-house experience required
・1–3 years of supervisory experience
・Management experience in high-end restaurants
・Experience managing multiple locations is a plus
・Someone who can take initiative in building systems and workflow processes and creating manuals
・Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
・Professional appearance and friendly demeanor
・Experience working with multicultural and multilingual teams
