General Affairs Manager | High-End Japanese Restaurant

A Japanese company operating a high-end Japanese restaurant in Cerritos, California, is seeking a General Affairs Manager.

 

<Overview>
This position serves as a manager who oversees the work of team members and provides guidance as
needed. The role is also responsible for identifying operational issues within the department,
understanding departmental tasks, and providing support to maximize efficiency. As a department
manager, this position manages schedules, coordinates with other departments, and drives results—
working with support from senior management—to achieve corporate objectives

 

<Essential Duties>
・Ensures clarity around priorities and goals for the entire functional area
・Provide guidance and instructions within the department and outside departments as needed
・Work across functions with peers in other departments to ensure collaboration for shared goals
・Comprehensive management of subordinates
・Achieve departmental operational goals by contributing insights and recommendations to
administrative plans and reviews; developing and executing process improvement initiatives;
enhancing office and facility operations; resolving administrative and operational issues; conducting
internal reviews; identifying inefficiencies; recommending system improvements; and implementing
organizational changes as needed.
・Interact with executives and relevant stakeholders to support workplace and facility improvement
initiatives.
・Provide regular and timely reporting, communication, and consultation to the direct supervisor.
・Other duties as assigned by management.
Suggested Additional Essential Duties
・Manage day-to-day office operations including procurement and inventory control of office supplies,
replacement of consumables, coordination of maintenance services, and handling of facility issues or
repairs.
・Oversee vendor relationships by coordinating services, managing communication, reviewing invoices,
and processing payments in a timely manner.
・Manage company-owned vehicles, including purchase planning, registration, insurance coordination,
maintenance scheduling, and replacement/renewal processes.
・Provide operational and administrative support for in-house chef related activities.
・Coordinate business card orders for employees and maintain accurate records for issuance and updates.
・Manage corporate insurance policies, including renewal, documentation, and coordination with brokers.
・Manage corporate registration requirements including preparation and filing of annual reports,
business licenses, and other state or local compliance documents to ensure timely and accurate submissions.

Non-Essential Duties:
・Report all irregular issues and problems to the management for solutions
・Network and maintain good communication with the management, office staff members, and outside contacts
・Compile and maintains the confidentiality of all company policies and procedures
・Maintain high ethical standards in the workplace
・Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional
publications; maintaining personal network
・Seek constant improvement or more efficient and less expensive ways and means in department work process

 

<Requirements>
・College degree preferred but not required.
・Minimum of three to five years of Administrative/Executive assistant and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
・Business bilingual in English and Japanese
・Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
・Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
・Ability to manage multiple priorities with deadlines
・Strong vendor negotiation skills
・High level of discretion and confidentiality
