A Japanese ramen restaurant group operating four locations in Oklahoma is seeking a Kitchen Manager or Assistant Kitchen Manager to join its growing team.
This is an expansion-based opening due to the launch of a new location and the strengthening of operations at existing stores. Prior experience working at a ramen restaurant is not required. Candidates with culinary experience or kitchen management experience in sushi restaurants, izakaya, Japanese restaurants, or other Asian restaurants are welcome to apply.
Job Summary
The Kitchen Manager / Assistant Kitchen Manager will serve as a hands-on manager, actively participating in cooking and preparation while overseeing overall kitchen operations, quality control, sanitation, inventory management, and staff training.
Candidates with limited management experience are also encouraged to apply if they have strong cooking experience and are interested in growing into a kitchen management role.
Responsibilities
・Prepare and cook menu items
・Handle food preparation and kitchen setup
・Manage cooking processes and kitchen workflow
・Ensure food quality and consistency
・Maintain sanitation, food safety, and cleanliness standards
・Order ingredients and manage inventory
・Train, coach, and develop kitchen staff
・Create staff schedules and manage attendance
・Manage food cost and support cost control
・Identify and implement operational improvements
・Communicate and collaborate with the Store Manager and Operations Manager
・Support multiple store locations as needed
・Perform other duties related to kitchen operations
Requirements
・Japanese-English bilingual skills
・Experience in kitchen operations or cooking
・Ability to communicate with staff in English
・Ability to effectively manage local staff
・Strong awareness of quality, sanitation, and safety standards
・Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment
・Team-oriented attitude
・Valid work authorization in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
・Experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, Sous Chef, Supervisor, or similar role
・2+ years of management experience
・Experience working at a ramen restaurant
・Experience working at a sushi restaurant, izakaya, Japanese restaurant, or Asian restaurant
・Experience with ingredient ordering, inventory management, and food cost control
・Experience training and developing staff
・Food safety or sanitation-related certification
