A major Japanese airline company in Torrance, CA is currently seeking an individual to fill a Assistant Manager position.
<Job Overview>
This position is responsible for driving the corporate sales strategy and achieving revenue quotas for
Marketing & Sales, The Americas. The role requires significant cross-functional collaboration to align on and execute Joint Venture objectives. Responsibilities include strategic sales leadership, new business development, team management, and providing
essential personnel support to regional branch offices during temporarily manpower shortages for the local activities.
<Duties and Responsibilities>
・Achieve assigned Corporate Sales Unit targets and route revenue goals, while driving business development within
the designated market/territory.
・Support the development of yearly sales plans and strategies, including budget allocation, and oversee the sales team’s
execution of these plans.
・Regularly review and evaluate the team’s sales performance against established goals, adjusting plans and strategies as
necessary to optimize outcomes.
・Manage sales performance and budgets, providing timely updates and status reports to Senior Management.
・Maintain continuous awareness of industry and market trends to enhance the competitive position and proactively
implement countermeasures.
・Develop and maintain strong relations with key internal stakeholders and external partners. Collaborate closely to ensure
strategic alignment, maximize revenue, and contribute to the execution of joint sales strategies and overall Joint Venture objectives.
・Coordinate the development of effective sales strategies, including pricing, sales promotions, and revenue management initiatives.
・Provide strategic guidance, including advice on strategy, pricing, and cost, to support account management activities and
contract negotiations as required.
・Direct and manage the sales team, including organizing team structure, staffing, hiring, training, motivation, and professional
development.
・ Oversee the goal-setting process for subordinate staff, conduct performance evaluations, provide necessary feedback, and
coordinate training.
・Organize and attend sales-related meetings within the unit, across departments, or with JV counterparts to ensure strategic alignment.
・Manage negotiations and escalations with internal and external partners on an as-needed basis.
・Act as the overall leader for Marketing & Sales, The Americas to regional support function, responsible for:
-Vetting requests from regional branch office management for personnel assistance due to their staffing shortages for their local activities.
-Assessing the overall operational situation to determine the need for support.
-Directing the efficient dispatch of appropriate sales personnel to fill the temporary staffing gap.
• Perform any other sales and marketing functions as directed by Senior Management.
•Manage daily and weekly activity plans and executions for Field Sales Managers (FSMs) at Corporate Sales Group (CSG)
•Manage time cards for FSMs as non-exempt employees and approve them through ADP
•Manage sales measures such as Platinum status recommendations
•Conduct one-on-one/team meetings for FSMs and the entire CSG team
•Participate in multiple management alignment meetings with VP/Managers and City Office (CTO) related meetings with General •Manager/CTO-Sales Admin staff
•Manage CTO Support System by coordinating between CTO and members
Field Sales Managers Duties:
•Field accounts portfolio with $3M to $7M in annual spend.
•Builds and maintains strong client relationships, primarily through virtual channels, to understand business needs and challenges.
•Develops and executes account plans.
•Cultivates client relationships and loyalty.
•Completes contract negotiations and implementations. Stays informed on industry trends.
•Partners with teams, stakeholders and Joint •Venture partners.
•Maintains accurate CRM information.
•Handles VIP customer needs.
Joint Venture Duties:
•Liaison to United counterpart who also manage the corporate sales team and Joint Venture Strategy.
•Support Corporate Sales team on contract Management including account development, Sales Leadership meeting, negotiation, and escalation process.
•Oversee the corporate sales team activity, review and feedback sales activity, account performance and analysis, budget planning and execution, advisory on customer inquiry, negotiation, contract management.
<Requirements>
•Possesses professional experience in sales and managerial positions within relevant industries, such as airlines and travel agencies.
(5 ~ 10 years’ experience in the industry is preferable.)
•Strong expertise and background in Corporate Sales
•People management experience, including prior responsibility for managing subordinates
•Effectively communicate with customers, superiors, colleagues, and subordinates across virtual and physical platforms,
and make fair, informed decisions on requests from branch office management and staff.
•Technical skills that are essential for this role such as proficiency with Salesforce, specific Microsoft Office suite knowledge.
•Language skill: English, (additionally Japanese is a plus).
•Must have valid work authorization in the United States.
