A high-end Japanese izakaya restaurant (a major restaurant group) in Las Vegas, Nevada, is seeking a Head Sushi Chef.

 

<Job Summary>

  • Oversee the full operation of the sushi bar

  • Manage procurement, quality control, and inventory of fresh seafood

  • Train, supervise, and schedule kitchen staff

  • Develop seasonal and creative sushi menus

  • Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards

  • Handle customer requests and provide excellent service

  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff and management to ensure smooth operations

 

<Requirements>

  • Experience as a head sushi chef

  • Advanced knowledge and skills in sushi and Japanese cuisine

  • Expertise in fish selection, preparation, and knife techniques

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Basic knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards

  • Good communication and teamwork abilities

  • Basic conversational skills in Japanese or English (depending on the work environment)

  • Valid work authorization (visa sponsorship available if necessary)
