We are seeking a candidate to excel in a Technical Sales role at a Japanese manufacturing company located in Torrance, California. The company specializes in the production and sale of electromagnetic actuators (solenoids), which are used in products such as financial (ATM) systems, ophthalmic equipment, and security cameras. Although the products are manufactured in Japan, the clients are U.S. companies, so native-level English proficiency is required. Comprehensive training is provided, so even those without prior experience are welcome. The work environment is supportive and friendly. This position is with a company headquartered in Japan with over 80 years of history.
Job Overview:
- Customer and Development Liaison:
- Act as an intermediary between the customer and the development team.
- Handle technical aspects to allow the development team to focus on their core work (design/development), including adjustments on drawings/specifications/cost calculations, etc.
- The company is known for its custom solutions (70% of business) and will involve follow-up with existing clients.
- New Product Planning:
- Bring customer needs and market trends into new product development.
Requirements:
- Must hold a visa allowing employment in the U.S. (OPT is not acceptable).
- Bilingual in Japanese and English; Professional-level English proficiency is required as the clients are U.S. companies.
- Must be able to commute to the Torrance office.
- Mainly office-based work (remote work may be possible in certain situations). The company aims to provide training during free time.
- Willingness to travel (domestic U.S. travel, e.g., Seattle, Florida):
- Generally, meetings are conducted via web conference, but travel may be necessary for cost-effectiveness (within driving distance).
- For locations beyond driving distance, expect travel 3-4 days every 3 months.
- Long-term commitment is required.
- 2-3 years of professional experience preferred.
- Ability to manage customer relations and self-manage tasks.
