A Japanese restaurant in Honolulu, Hawaii is seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef.
<Job Summary>
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of sushi preparation, menu planning, and fine dining standards. As a Sushi Chef, you will play a crucial role in creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests while ensuring the highest quality of food handling and presentation.
<Jon Duties>
・Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, with attention to detail and artistry.
・Collaborate with the culinary team to develop innovative menu items that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
・Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
・Assist in managing inventory levels of sushi ingredients and supplies, ensuring freshness and quality.
・Provide support to the dietary department by accommodating special dietary needs or requests from guests.
・Participate in catering events as needed, showcasing sushi offerings that enhance the overall dining experience.
・Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and best practices.
<Requirements>
・Authorized to work in the United States
・Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or catering environment.
・Strong knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations.
・Experience in menu planning with an emphasis on fine dining is preferred.
・Familiarity with various culinary techniques beyond sushi preparation is a plus.
・Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining individual accountability for food quality.
