Store Manager | Japanese bakery store

We are looking for a Store Manager at our beloved bakery, famous for our signature croissants and the long lines that form every morning.

<Job Overview>
As a Store Manager, you will help oversee our team and daily operations, while ensuring smooth store management.
Together with the team, you will play an important role in driving sales and creating a bakery experience that delights our customers.

<Responsibilities>
1. Human Resource Management

  • Hiring, training, and supervising front staff

  • Creating and managing staff schedules, shift control, and workforce analysis

  • Labor management (timecard management, onboarding/offboarding procedures, maintaining personnel files, responding to workplace accidents)

  • Fostering teamwork and improving staff motivation

  • Providing guidance and training to the Kitchen Manager

2. Product & Store Management

  • Ordering and managing inventory of materials and ingredients, ensuring proper product display

  • Updating price cards, ingredient lists, and POS systems (CLOVER) for new products or price changes

  • Creating and setting up customer-facing posters/signs

  • Securing products and materials based on sales forecasts and maintaining records for the following year

3. Financial Management

  • Daily sales closing and confirmation of the previous day’s sales

  • Sales forecasting and analysis

  • Cost control, including labor costs (in coordination with the owner)

4. Customer Service & Sales

  • Identifying customer needs and providing high-quality service

  • Overseeing and improving operations across all time periods

5. Other Duties

  • Ensuring store safety, hygiene, and risk management (IIPP implementation, responding to health department, fire department, and water board inspections and improvements)

  • Coordinating and reporting with the owner and other store managers

  • Improving and streamlining store operations

  • Guiding kitchen staff and improving kitchen operations in collaboration with the Kitchen Manager

  • Procuring necessary materials and equipment (in coordination with the owner)

  • Troubleshooting and repairing store equipment, and liaising with contractors as needed

<Qualifications>

  • Bilingual in Japanese and English (Spanish a plus)

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

  • No educational requirements

  • 3+ years of managerial experience in the food service industry

  • Basic PC skills (Gmail, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

給与Salary Hourly wage: $25–30/h (Annual salary estimate: $65,000; determined after interview based on experience)
