Senior Mechanical Engineer

Construction Company in Portland, OR, is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

This position is responsible for all engineering design deliverables for assigned projects, including technical leadership, project management, and detailed mechanical design work on new and existing projects requiring process equipment development. You will use your outstanding technical and project management skills to develop and enhance the team to solve meaningful problems and develop innovative solutions that enhance customer value.

<Job Description>
∙Prepare and revise P&IDs and design plant and equipment configurations in accordance with instructions from other departments and customers.
▪ Prepare and revise construction specifications for all mechanical and related equipment.
▪ Interpret design requirements and provide innovative engineering solutions while incorporating safety, cost effectiveness, and maintainability concepts.
∙ Perform and oversee the sizing of system components such as pumps, piping, cooling towers, chillers, boilers, and process equipment.
∙ Interpret and provide technical expertise on various standards applicable to design and plant operations, including SMACNA, ASHRAE, OSHA, ICC, and NFPA.
∙ Conduct site inspections and prepare technical descriptions related to the scope of work and operational specifications.
∙ Provide information to management and other project stakeholders regarding project status and potential design conflicts.
∙ Mentor and train junior engineers.

<Requirements>
∙Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
∙Minimum of 8 years’ experience in mechanical/process equipment engineering.
∙ Familiarity with design and calculation software.
∙ Knowledge of industry standards and associated policies and procedures ∙ Knowledge of industry standards and associated policies
