We are looking for a production manager at a Japanese artist studio in Brooklyn, New York.
<Job Overview>
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient and cost–effective management of
production across a wide range of projects, including exhibitions, public art installations, and sculptures.
This role covers all aspects of logistics, art handling, and delivery to clients, ensuring smooth operations
from planning through execution. The Production Manager collaborates closely with internal teams and
external partners to maintain the studio’s standards of excellence and deliver projects on time and within
budget.
<Responsibilities>
・Manage all aspects of sculpture production, including design progress, coordination, quality control, and deployment, ensuring standards meet management’s expectations.
・Develop and maintain project timelines and Gantt charts; supervise the production studio to ensure deadlines are met.
・Provide regular progress updates (minimum three times per week) to management and team members, including reporting of milestones and potential delays.
・Proactively address issues to maintain quality and cost efficiency in line with expectations.
・Ensure timely and effective communication with management, team members, and external partners to support smooth project execution.
・Archive all production–related documentation (installation manuals, engineering drawings, blueprints, etc.) in a timely and organized manner.
・Lead exhibition design in line with client agreements, coordinating execution with internal and external teams.
・Identify and mitigate risks associated with art production, preparing and implementing solutions where necessary (e.g., repairs, logistics adjustments).
・Coordinate shipping, transportation, and handling of artworks, including paintings and sculptures.
・Oversee warehouse management for completed artworks, ensuring proper storage, tracking, and handling.
・Perform additional administrative tasks as required (e.g., research, documentation,correspondence, filing)
・Serve as a role model by demonstrating strong commitment to organizational success, high performance, and compliance with workplace policies, while fostering a positive and collaborative studio culture.
