We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager to lead the culinary operations of our upcoming Japanese restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. This role involves overseeing daily kitchen activities, managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining efficient food production processes to create an authentic Japanese dining experience.
<Responsibilities>
- Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure high-quality standards.
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste.
- Supervise kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management to foster a cohesive team environment.
- Implement and maintain food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations.
- Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS and Toast for order processing, cash handling, and sales tracking.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow and excellent customer experience.
- Develop menus in collaboration with executive chefs that reflect authentic Japanese cuisine while considering cost efficiency.
- Conduct staff training sessions on culinary techniques, food safety protocols, and customer service excellence.
- Monitor kitchen productivity and implement process improvements for efficiency and quality control.
- Assist in budgeting, cost control, and financial management of the kitchen operations.
- Lead by example in maintaining a positive work environment focused on hospitality excellence.
<Requirements>
- Proven management experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment, preferably within quick service & fast food or casual dining settings.
- Extensive culinary experience with a focus on Japanese cuisine or similar culinary styles.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen management best practices.
- Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Toast POS; cash handling skills required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with prior supervising or team management experience.
- Excellent communication skills for staff training, interviewing potential team members, and customer interactions.
- Ability to manage shift schedules effectively while maintaining high standards of food quality and service efficiency.
- Hospitality management background with experience in fine dining or casual dining environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of inventory control, budgeting, food production processes, catering services, and banquet operations is advantageous.
