A well-established Japanese restaurant group with locations across the United States is seeking a Head Chef for its restaurant in Houston, Texas.
In this leadership role, you will utilize your expertise in authentic Japanese cuisine and sushi while taking on responsibilities beyond food preparation, including restaurant operations, team management, and staff development. We welcome experienced culinary professionals who are ready to lead a team and contribute to the continued success of the restaurant.
<Job Responsibilities>
・Prepare authentic Japanese cuisine and sushi to the highest quality standards
・Supervise daily kitchen operations and ensure efficient workflow
・Train, mentor, and manage kitchen staff
・Maintain food quality, safety, and sanitation standards
・Manage inventory, food costs, and ordering
・Collaborate with management to ensure smooth restaurant operations
<Qualifications>
・Hands-on experience in a Japanese or sushi restaurant
・Previous leadership experience as a Team Leader, Sous Chef, Head Chef, or similar management role preferred
・Strong teamwork and communication skills
・High sense of responsibility and commitment to restaurant operations
・Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
<Preferred Qualifications>
・Experience working in a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant
・Experience with multi-unit or restaurant chain operations
・Knowledge of food cost control and inventory management
・Basic English communication skills
