A Japanese omakase restaurant group in Cerritos, CA is looking for a Supply Management Support.
<Job Overview>
The Supply Management Support is a key operational partner responsible for supporting purchasing,
inventory control, and vendor coordination across locations. You ensure our kitchens
are fully stocked with the right ingredients and supplies – on time, on budget, and to standard.
<Job Description>
• Support purchasing activities for ingredients, beverages, and restaurant supplies
• Place purchase orders accurately and on schedule
• Confirm deliveries and follow up on delays or discrepancies
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable to resolve purchase order and invoice issues
• Maintain purchasing records, vendor communications, and pricing history
• Monitor market trends, vendor promotions, and product availability
• Monitor inventory levels and flag potential stockouts or overstock situations
• Coordinate and participate in monthly inventory counts with store and kitchen teams
• Support inventory reconciliation and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records
• Support recipe compliance and food quality standards set by chefs
• Coordinate vendor communications and support pricing discussions and service issue resolution
• Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, chefs, and store teams
• Track vendor performance, including delivery reliability, pricing accuracy, and quality consistency
• Visit store locations and supplier sites as needed to monitor quality and collect feedback
• Analyze procurement and inventory data to identify cost savings, waste reduction opportunities, and demand trends
• Support purchasing forecasts using historical usage, seasonal trends, and current demand
• Track purchasing budgets and report variances
• Prepare regular reports for internal sourcing and planning meetings
• Use Excel, ERP, inventory management, and POS systems to support reporting and analysis
• Support compliance with company sourcing policies, food safety regulations, and internal standards
• Perform other supply management-related duties as assigned

<Requirements>
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience
• 1–3 years of purchasing, supply, or inventory experience in restaurants, hospitality, food service, or food distribution
• Experience supporting purchasing or procurement activities and coordinating with vendors
• Working knowledge of inventory monitoring and reconciliation processes
• Strong Excel skills required
• Experience using ERP, inventory management, and POS systems preferred
• Ability to analyze data, identify issues, and communicate findings effectively
• English communication skills required
• Bilingual Japanese and English strongly preferred
• Supply chain or purchasing certifications, such as CSCP or CPP, preferred
• Sommelier or Certified Sake Professional certification preferred
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Willingness to travel regularly to store locations, vendor sites, and events within California and occasionally to other states
