Japanese food trading company based in New Jersey is seeking an experienced professional to join the organization as a Sales Representative.
The company imports Japanese food products, beverages, and seasonings, and distributes them to Japanese supermarkets,
restaurants, and retail stores across the United States. Having grown to over 10 employees within approximately 18 months since
its establishment, the company is now strengthening its sales organization to support further business expansion.
In this small but fast-growing team environment, each member is given a high level of autonomy and is expected to take ownership
of their work. This position offers broad exposure, ranging from managing existing accounts to developing new business opportunities.
<Responsibilities>
1. Sales Activities
・Propose products and services to both existing and prospective customers
・Conduct field sales visits to restaurants, retail stores, and supermarkets
・Develop new clients and accounts through proactive business development
・Understand customer needs and market trends to deliver tailored solutions
2. Customer Support
・Prepare quotations, negotiate contracts, and process purchase orders
・Coordinate delivery schedules, handle complaints, and provide after-sales support
・Build and maintain long-term customer relationships
・Follow up to encourage repeat orders and ongoing business
3. Sales Management & Target Achievement
・Manage sales and profit targets
・Analyze and report personal sales performance
・Develop action plans to achieve goals
・Drive sales growth within assigned accounts and territories
4. Internal Coordination
・Work closely with warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery and product quality
・Coordinate with office staff, drivers, and management to ensure smooth operations and customer service
・Collaborate with administrative teams for accounts receivable management and pricing adjustments
<Requirements>
・Bilingual in Japanese and English
・Authorized to work in the United States
・Sales experience required
・Valid driver’s license
・Ability to work and travel within the NY/NJ area
<Preferred Qualifications>
・Experience in the food industry
・Background in food trading, wholesale, distribution, or import/export companies
・Sales experience targeting restaurants, supermarkets, or retail stores
・Experience in new business development
・Account management experience with existing clients
・Prior experience in restaurants or food retail industries
