A major Japanese logistics company in Wood Dale, Illinois is looking for an individual to join their team as a Warehouse Manager.
The position will primarily be based at the Wood Dale warehouse location. However, the company is planning to lease a new warehouse in Elgin around October 2026, and the selected candidate will be responsible for managing both warehouse locations.
＜Position Summary＞
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations including
receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping. This role ensures efficient
and safe warehouse activities while maintaining high levels of accuracy, productivity, and
compliance with company policies and regulations.
＜Key Responsibilities＞
・ Manage and supervise warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
・ Oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations (receiving, picking, packing, and shipping).
・ Implement and monitor warehouse KPIs (accuracy, productivity, safety, on-time performance).
・ Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular cycle counts and audits.
・ Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards.
・ Optimize warehouse layout, storage systems, and processes to improve efficiency.
・ Manage warehouse budget, including labor, equipment, and operational costs.
・ Check and approve monthly invoices to the cusromers.
・ Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, and transportation teams to meet customer demands.
・Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
・ Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
＜Qualifications＞
・ Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (preferred).
・5+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution, or logistics management.
・ Strong leadership and people management skills.
・ Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP software.
・ Familiarity with OSHA regulations and warehouse safety standards.
・Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
・ Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
＜Preferred Skills＞
・ Experience in 3PL or e-commerce fulfillment.
・ Lean / Six Sigma certification.
・ Forklift certification or knowledge of material handling equipment.
・Bilingual (English/Spanish)
＜Visits to the Elgin Warehouse＞
You will be expected to visit the Elgin warehouse approximately 2–3 times per week for half-day periods,
depending on customer order volume and operational needs.
If you travel from Wood Dale to Elgin using your own vehicle, mileage reimbursement will be provided
based on the actual miles driven.
