Floor Manager|Japanese Sushi Restaurant

A Japanese sushi restaurant group operating four locations in New York City is seeking a Floor Manager to join the team.

Candidates without prior floor manager experience are also welcome to apply and may start in an Assistant Manager role.

 

<Job Responsibilities>

  • Oversee various tasks related to overall restaurant operations

  • Coordinate with the Health Department to ensure compliance

  • Manage staff attendance and timekeeping

  • Supervise POS system operations

  • Utilize ADP for scheduling and payroll management

  • Monitor daily service flow and ensure a high-quality guest experience

  • Supervise and manage front-of-house staff

  • Maintain quality control of service and food presentation, including the restaurant’s signature sauces and fish

 

 

<Qualifications>

  • Business-level English proficiency (bilingual candidates preferred)

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Manager or Assistant Manager at a high-end sushi or Japanese restaurant

  • Valid NYC Department of Health Food Handler Certificate

  • Knowledge of Japanese cuisine, sake, and fish

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Ability to collaborate closely with the Sushi Chef Manager and Kitchen Manager, supporting sushi chefs while ensuring smooth restaurant operations
