Account Manager | Major Japanese Logistics Company

An Account Manager position is open at a major Japanese logistics company located in Wood Dale, Illinois.

＜Job Overview＞
This role focuses on managing existing Japanese corporate clients rather than new business development. The Account Manager will handle logistics-related needs for Japanese companies (manufacturers, trading companies, etc.) in the U.S., primarily communicating in Japanese. Responsibilities include analyzing logistics challenges, coordinating internally, and maintaining ongoing client relationships.

＜Responsibilities＞
・Manage and maintain relationships with existing Japanese clients in Chicago and the Midwest region
・Serve as the first point of contact for logistics inquiries and clarify client requirements
・Support coordination and proposal activities for the following services:
・International shipping (air and ocean)
・Warehousing and fulfillment
・Relocation services (corporate and expatriate)
・Coordinate internally regarding estimates and operational matters (final decisions on pricing and approvals are supported by management)
・Liaise with both the Japanese headquarters and local U.S. offices, prepare explanation materials as needed

＜Requirements＞
・Bilingual in Japanese and English (business level for both)
・Authorized to work in the United States
・Experience in account management, customer success, or corporate sales
・Ability to organize client input and communicate it accurately within the company
・Strong aptitude for relationship management and deepening existing client connections rather than aggressive sales
・Logistics industry experience is not required if you have experience handling corporate clients
*This is not a cold-calling or new business development sales role; the focus is on stable, existing client accounts.
