Sushi Chef | Japanese Restaurant

A Japanese Restaurant in Coral Gables, Florida is seeking a Sushi Chef.

 

<Job Overview>

  • Sushi preparation (including fish cutting, sashimi, nigiri, rolls, and prompt service)

  • Ingredient management (inventory control, ordering, freshness checks, proper storage)

  • Sanitation control (cleaning, disinfecting, keeping the kitchen organized)

  • Equipment maintenance (knife care, machine operation and upkeep)

  • Quality control (checking sushi quality and presentation, continuous improvement)

  • Operational efficiency (fast-paced preparation, teamwork, handling busy hours)

  • Safety measures (safe handling of fire and knives, emergency response)

Business Hours:
Dinner only, 1st course starts at 6PM and 2nd course starts at 9PM
*Restaurant will close around 11:00-11:30PM

 

<Requirements>

  • Bilingual in Japanese and English

  • Visa sponsorship is available (E1, E2)

  • 5–10 years of experience as a sushi chef

  • Experience working at a Michelin-starred restaurant and/or an omakase-style restaurant

  • Strong understanding of Japanese culinary culture

  • Knowledge of kaiseki, sushi, and high-end Japanese cuisine

  • Skilled in knife handling, plating, and fish preparation

  • Available to work on weekends

  • Able to work collaboratively and value teamwork

Visa Support and Relocation Assistance:

  • Visa: E1 and/or E2 support available

  • Relocation assistance: Depends on experience and family size, but negotiable
