A prestigious Japanese fine-dining restaurant located in Laguna Beach, California is seeking a sushi chef to join our team.

This Michelin one-star restaurant takes pride in using high-quality ingredients, sourcing fish from Tsukiji and Osaka markets.

<Job Overview>

Ingredient Preparation: Prepare fresh fish, vegetables, and other ingredients used in sushi, including cutting and prepping.
Sushi Making: Skillfully prepare various types of sushi such as nigiri, sashimi, and rolls according to customer preferences or the restaurant’s standards.
Plating: Ensure that sushi is beautifully presented and meets the restaurant’s quality standards.
Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the kitchen area clean and adhere to hygiene and food safety guidelines.
Customer Interaction: Interact with customers as needed to ensure their satisfaction with their meal and explain the menu when necessary.
Inventory Management: Manage inventory and order fresh ingredients as needed.
Teamwork: Collaborate closely with other kitchen staff (such as sous chefs and kitchen assistants) to ensure smooth operations.
Compliance with Safety Regulations: Follow food safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.

<Requirements>

Must hold a valid U.S. work visa
Native-level proficiency in Japanese
Experience as sushi chef
A serious, dedicated attitude toward work
Ability to work well in a team
Flexibility and a positive, proactive approach to tasks
