Currently seeking an experienced Vice President of Sales – APAC to lead growth efforts in the industrial telematics sector across the Asia-Pacific region. This leadership role will involve developing strategic sales plans, managing direct and indirect sales channels, and driving substantial business growth by overseeing a high-performing sales team to achieve ambitious revenue targets.
APAC (Asia-Pacific) is an abbreviation for the Asia-Pacific region, referring to Asia and the surrounding Pacific countries. Specifically, it includes Japan, China, South Korea, India, Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asian countries such as Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. This region is known for its significant economic growth and is an important market with numerous new business opportunities for companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sales Development: The Vice President will identify and develop new sales opportunities within industrial telematics markets, maintaining strong account management to expand regional presence.
- Sales Strategy Execution: This role will involve collaborating with executive leadership to design and implement sales strategies that drive revenue growth and increase brand visibility.
- Sales Cycle Management: The successful candidate will oversee the entire sales process, from lead generation through to deal closure, ensuring a streamlined sales cycle.
- Competitive Analysis & Industry Knowledge: Staying informed about market trends, competitor activities, and product developments, the VP will identify and leverage strategic opportunities.
- Proposal and Contract Development: Responsible for developing persuasive sales proposals, preparing pricing quotes, and managing contracts to completion.
- Team Leadership: The Vice President will mentor and guide the sales team, establishing clear goals and providing resources to meet and exceed targets.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years in technology sales, with substantial experience in telecommunications, satellite, or related industries.
- Sales Expertise: A strong track record in business development, especially with system integrators, M2M service providers, and OEM clients.
- Leadership & Communication: Exceptional leadership, communication, and client relationship skills are essential.
- Bilingual: Proficiency in English and Japanese is required.
This position is based in San Diego, CA and involves travel within the APAC region. This opportunity is ideal for a proactive sales leader with a commitment to driving growth in the telematics sector.
