A major Japanese food company is currently seeking a West Coast Sales Assistant in Torrance, CA.
<Job Summary>
This position involves assisting with order fulfillment, customer service support, and administrative tasks within the sales department. The Sales Assistant will also support sales, accounting, and administrative functions.
<Job Description>
Sales Support:
- Assist in processing orders for different sales channels.
- Transfers purchase orders to spreadsheets.
- Respond promptly to customer calls and inquiries.
- Coordinate and participate in product demonstrations and trade shows.
- Communicate with warehouses and factories regarding sales orders and production.
- Update and analyze sales data.
- Update sales demo data and reports.
- Update sales analysis lists.
Customer service support:
- Contact customers by phone, email, letter, or in person to ascertain their needs and ensure smooth business and information flow.
- Identified and addressed customer needs and issues quickly.
- Handle service complaints, product complaints, and requests from customers via phone and email.
Support promotional orders:
- Ensure prompt and accurate shipment of promotional orders.
- Travel to warehouse when necessary (e.g., to check inventory).
- Order inventory from the warehouse as needed.
- Management of donation requests.
Administrative support:
- Answering incoming and forwarding telephone calls.
- Welcoming visitors.
- Provide general administrative and clerical support including mailing, scanning, faxing, and copying.
Other duties:
- Pursue continuous improvement of work processes.
- Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as directed.
- Maintains high ethical standards.
- Reports problems and unusual events to administration.
- Maintained good communication with management, office staff, and outside contacts.
- Adhered to company policies and procedures.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area.
- Accommodates Parent Company (MMIC) or Subsidiary Company (PNF) guests as required.
<Requirements>
- U.S. work visa holder.
- Two year college or technical school (A.A. Degree) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 6 months of relevant experience as work experience. Sales experience in the U.S. is preferred.
- Bilingual in Japanese and English (minimum requirement to be able to read and write).
- Must be able to work in an office daily.
- Ability to use fax machine, copier, scanner, and other devices necessary for daily office work.
- Must be able to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license
