A Japanese onigiri and sushi shop located in Little Tokyo & La Cañada Flintridge, California is looking for a Sushi Chef / Fish Preparation .
<About the Role>
The ideal candidate will assist with daily food preparation, fish cutting, and light kitchen operations, working in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
<Key Responsibilities>
・Prepare and cut fresh fish for sashimi, poke, and sushi
・Support kitchen prep and cooking (onigiri fillings, rice prep, etc.)
・Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards
・Assist with inventory management and ordering
・Communicate with the manager and team to ensure smooth operation
・Provide excellent service when interacting with customers
<Requirements>
・Experience in fish cutting or sushi preparation (required)
・Previous kitchen experience in Japanese or Asian cuisine preferred
・Reliable, team-oriented, and positive attitude
・Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
・Basic English communication (Japanese or Spanish a plus)
