About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sushi Chef to join our sushi culinary team in Miami. You’ll be responsible for sushi preparation, ingredient handling, and quality control — all while maintaining the highest hygiene standards. You’ll also play a key role in delivering a welcoming and personalized experience to our guests, including accommodating allergies and special dietary requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, assemble, and present a variety of sushi dishes

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and sushi counter

  • Accurately follow and execute established recipes

  • Work closely with head chefs and other departments to ensure smooth operations

  • Monitor inventory, prep ingredients, and request restocking as needed

  • Respond to customer allergies and special requests with care and professionalism

  • Assist with opening and closing duties based on shift schedule

  • Record daily kitchen operations and share updates with the team

  • Strictly adhere to internal hygiene/safety protocols and local health regulations

  • Participate in staff training sessions and meetings

  • Learn and represent the company and brand ethos

  • Report and respond to any equipment issues promptly

  • Collaborate with team members to continuously improve service quality

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sushi preparation (experience in high-volume restaurants preferred)

  • General experience working in restaurant kitchens (U.S. kitchen experience is a plus)

  • Positive attitude with a strong sense of teamwork and cooperation

  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and handle moderate lifting

  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards

  • Ability to communicate in basic English (Japanese speakers are also welcome!)
