<Job Description>
・Responsible for sales of electronic components, with a strong focus on actively developing new customers
・New customer acquisition activities account for more than 50% of overall responsibilities
・Engage in technical discussions with client engineers
・Provide proposals tailored to customer needs
・Utilize basic office software and computing skills to efficiently manage sales activities and customer information
・Understand technical information from Japanese engineers to a certain extent and communicate customer requirements in Japanese
・Collaborate with the team to develop sales strategies, analyze market trends, and work toward achieving sales targets
・Initiate contact with new customers
・Schedule meetings with customers
・Obtain program-related information
・Provide samples
・Conduct technical negotiations (specifications, quality, packaging)
・Arrange follow-up samples after the second round
・Reach agreement on specifications
・Reach agreement on pricing
・Receive confirmed purchase orders (POs)
・Prepare and manage budgets
・Report customer forecasts (FCST) and production schedules
・Negotiate production leveling
・Operate and manage supplier portals (sales- and quality-related items)
<Requirements>
・Technical background in university major or previous work experience
・Experience in business related to electronic components in the automotive industry.
・Must have basic office software and computing skills
・Must have working status to work in the U.S.
・Willingness and ability to travel within the U.S.
(in-state and out-of-state, with rare international travel), approximately four times per month
・Business level English, Professional level Japanese
・1–3 years of sales experience (3+ years preferred)
・Must have or plan to obtain a U.S. driver’s license
<Ideal Candidate>
・Technical background in university or past job history.
・No hesitation in a technical conversation with the client engineer.
・Experience in business related to Electronic components in the automotive field especially.
・ Have a passion for new customer development
・Basic skills in office software and computing.
・ Understand the technical input in Japanese from engineers in Japan to some extent. And communicate client requirements to them in Japanese to some extent.
