Accounts Payable Clerk

A well-established food import and distribution company in the El Monte area is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join its accounting team.
This position is responsible for processing vendor invoices, issuing payments, maintaining vendor records, reviewing Accounts Payable balances, and resolving invoice and payment discrepancies.

 

〈Position Overview〉
The Accounts Payable Clerk will support daily payment operations and work closely with vendors, banks, and internal departments to ensure invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with accounting experience who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling financial records and payment-related inquiries.

〈Key Responsibilities〉
・Process manual payments, checks, and wire transfers
・Review vendor invoices for accuracy and proper authorization
・Enter and update invoice information in the company database
・Monitor payment schedules and ensure vendors are paid on time
・Review Accounts Payable balances and account activity
・Research and resolve invoice, pricing, and payment discrepancies
・Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and invoice questions
・Create and maintain vendor files in the accounting system
・Maintain vendor tax information and Form 1099 records
・Generate and upload daily banking reports
・Assist with account reconciliation and month-end closing tasks
・Maintain accurate and confidential accounting records
・Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
・Attend occasional company events outside regular business hours

〈Qualifications〉
・Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required
・At least two years of Accounts Payable or related accounting experience preferred
・Experience reviewing and processing vendor invoices
・Experience with manual payments, checks, and wire transfers
・Basic knowledge of general accounting principles
・Experience with bank reconciliation preferred
・Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills
・Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
・Experience using accounting or ERP software
・Microsoft Dynamics 365 or AS400 experience preferred
・Basic English reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills required
・Basic Japanese communication skills preferred but not required
