We are currently seeking an Accounting Staff (Temporary Employee) to join a Japanese food trading company located in El Monte, California.
This is a temp-to-hire position, with the potential to transition to a full-time (direct-hire) role based on performance after approximately 3–6 months.
〈Responsibilities〉
・Ensure proper documentation of payments through reports
・Process refunds and returned checks
・Work with customers to resolve past-due accounts
・Draft emails and respond to customer requests for receipt issuance
・Process weekly statements and email statements to customers upon request
・Record cash, check, and credit card transactions and process customer payments
・Manage data to ensure proper distribution of statements, including monitoring billed payments
・Prepare bi-weekly statement reports for review
・Perform other duties as assigned by the manager
・Coordinate with customers and the sales team to ensure timely collection of upcoming payments and resolve payment delays, while maintaining proper filing and record-keeping procedures
<Requirements>
・Basic level English skills (required); basic level Japanese skills (preferred)
・Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred
・2+ years of Accounts Receivable (AR) experience is preferred
・Basic math skills (e.g., markup, discounts, currency, etc.)
・Experience with the AS400 system is a plus
