A leading Japanese global logistics company located in Hayward, California, is seeking a Senior Supervisor for its Ocean Import / Export department.
＜Position Overview＞
This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Ocean Import / Export operations, as well as team management, customer service, and process improvement. The successful candidate will work as a hands-on manager, leading the team while also supporting day-to-day operations during busy periods.
＜Responsibilities＞
・Manage and supervise Ocean Import / Export operations
・Manage, train, and evaluate team members
・Handle customer inquiries and coordinate with relevant parties
・Manage KPIs and improve operational efficiency
・Provide hands-on operational support during busy periods
＜Qualifications＞
・3+ years of experience in Ocean Import / Export operations
・Professional experience in the freight forwarding industry
・Experience as a Team Lead or Supervisor
・Excellent customer service skills
・Leadership and management experience
・Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
＜Preferred Qualifications＞
・Japanese/English bilingual skills
・Knowledge of customs procedures
・Knowledge of trade compliance
・Experience working with ocean carriers
・Experience managing KPIs
・Experience in process improvement
・Experience in coaching and employee development
