Sales Manager (Machinery & Equipment) | Japanese Manufacturing Company

A Sales Manager is sought to contribute at an automotive manufacturing company located in Torrance, California.

 

<Position Overview>
This role leads the expansion of sales for machinery, equipment, and technical components, requiring strong product and technical understanding. The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing sales strategies, managing key accounts, executing marketing initiatives, and overseeing the sales team to achieve revenue targets.

 

<Responsibilities>

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive growth in machinery and equipment product lines

  • Conduct market, competitor, and customer trend research and analysis

  • Create sales plans and forecasts and monitor progress toward targets

  • Build and maintain relationships with existing and new customers through consultative sales

  • Manage business negotiations, including pricing and contract terms

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to provide product explanations and technical support

  • Prepare quotations, proposals, and other sales documentation

  • Oversee sales administration processes, including order management, scheduling, and shipping arrangements

  • Support product installation and testing when required

  • Plan and execute promotional activities such as trade shows and conferences

  • Assist with the creation of catalogs, web content, and promotional materials

  • Respond to customer inquiries, including technical and non-technical questions

  • Research and recommend new products and business opportunities

  • Conduct basic reviews of contracts and commercial terms

  • Analyze sales data, prepare reports, and provide updates to management

 

 

<Requirements>

  • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in machinery, equipment, or related technical fields

  • Ability to travel without restriction

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Economics, or related fields preferred)

  • Strong business-level English communication and writing skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Strong customer negotiation, communication, and project management skills

 

 

<Preferred Qualifications>

  • Japanese or Spanish language skills

  • Experience with trade show management or product demonstrations

  • Knowledge of commercial documentation, including basic contract review
