Sous Chef |Japanese Restaurant

A Japanese retaurant in Honolulu is looking for a person who will be involved in the start-up and operation of the restaurant as a sous chef in Waikiki, which is scheduled to open in the center of Waikiki around this summer.
This is a new challenge to deliver quality food and atmosphere in Hawaii.

This is a full-time position (hourly/non-exempt) and visa support is available.

<Job Description>

・Assist in setting up culinary department for new opening
・Assist Chef in daily culinary operations and on-site management
・Procure ingredients, manage inventory, and prepare preparation schedules
・To ensure hygiene and safety management (operations in accordance with local laws and regulations)
・Train and supervise kitchen staff, and manage shifts Support
・Menu development assistance, prototyping and other creative work

<Requirements>

[Required]
– 5+ years of culinary experience
– Experience as a sous chef, leader, or similar position in a restaurant
– Knowledge and practical experience in food hygiene and safety management
– Ability to obtain a work visa (visa support available)

[Preferred]
– New restaurant start-up experience
– Management or leadership experience English language skills at a daily conversational level or above (basic communication with staff)

Salary: $25-$28 start SalarySalary $25-$28 Start ($61,750/year for 45 hours/week at $25/hr)
