Planning manager

A Japanese manufacturing company in Gaffney, South Carolina that produces textile products for the automotive industry is looking for a Planning Manager.

<Job Summary>

The Planning Manager is responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels and scheduling production to support customer requirements.
The Planning Manager will also be responsible for the financial management of the Carpet, Matting, and Fabrics department.

<Job Description>

Adhere to the 6S’s and other company policies, rules, and procedures at all times.
Plan and manage the production schedule to meet customer delivery requirements and maximize the company’s production capacity.
Responsible for analysis and modification of sales releases and responsible for capacity planning and material requirements.
Plan and maintain appropriate inventory levels through material purchases from vendors and production scheduling.
Schedules production machinery to meet customer delivery requirements and maximize utilization of the company’s production capacity.
Manage the company’s production costs and dispose of them as necessary.
Establish departmental goals and objectives.
Analyze process inefficiencies and develop solutions to enhance them.
Liaise with production, purchasing, and warehouse departments on material status and production planning issues.
Manage and mentor employees in the planning department.
Provide support to the purchasing department.
Set employee goals and conduct employee performance reviews.

<Requirements>

Bachelor’s degree preferred, but a high school diploma is acceptable with a minimum of five years planning experience.
Business level English proficiency.
Conversational level of Spanish preferred.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a planner in the manufacturing industry.
