A Japanese logistics company in Los Angeles, CA is looking for an Operations Manager. This is a long-term position with excellent benefits! This position is mainly for import operations.
<Job Description>
– Importing –
- Check the documents required for customs clearance and submit them to CHB as soon as possible.
- Check the customs clearance status of CBP and OGA including FDA, USDA, and FWS frequently and contact them directly if necessary.
- Coordinate pickup or delivery schedules with customers.
- Notify customers of any delays in arrival or CBP or OGA holds.
- Verify PC counts upon receipt and recondition shipments as necessary (including re-icing, repackaging, and repairing minor cosmetic damage).
- Follow up on the status of customer and vendor deliveries and pickups.
- Ensure deliveries and pickups are on schedule. Maintains inventory in warehouse, coolers, and freezers.
- Obtain vendor invoices, check for accuracy, and prepare and send invoices according to established tariffs for customers.
- Become familiar with various government import regulations and provide information to customers.
- Interact with overseas and/or domestic distributors on a daily basis.
- Communicate regularly with existing customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Provide competitive rates.
– Exporting –
- Prepare AWBs in accordance with IATA regulations, including rates and commodity codes.
- Effectively manage the schedule and know the cut-off time to deliver the cargo to the airline.
- Follow up after bidding and report any inconvenience to customers and agents immediately.
- Obtain vendor invoices and check for accuracy.
- Check for export restrictions and limitations, as well as restrictions and limitations in the destination country.
- Ensure compliance with TSA regulations, screening, Known shipper, etc.
- Receive cargo orders from customers. Negotiates airline bookings.
- Familiarize and inform customers of various government import regulations
- Provide customers with booking information and other information

- Prepare SWBs and submit SIs and AESs in a timely manner.
- Maintain time schedule and deliver cargo to CY/CFS prior to deadlines.
- Coordinate drayage/trucking with third party vendors and maintain healthy relationships. Prepare invoices. Checking export regulations and, if necessary, destination country regulations.

- Basic PC operation skills
- People who have no problem with sorting cargo at the warehouse.
- Must be able to work on weekends, as the team works in shifts.
