Moving Section Manager

A Japanese logistics company in Atlanta, GA is looking for a Moving Section Manager. This is a long-term position with full benefits!

<Job Description>

  • Play a key role in external sales activities.
  • Provide consultation to clients to promote and develop their business.
  • Review and evaluate financial performance data to implement strategic ideas for branch growth and expansion.
  • Responsible for hiring and training new personnel.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and train subordinates for promotions and salary increases, as well as punish, demote, and/or terminate employees as necessary.
  • Improve the working environment, maintain workplace discipline, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Promote communication and teamwork activities within the branch and region.
  • Analyze route layouts to ensure safe and efficient transportation routes.
  • Directs movers and drivers, coordinates schedules, and dispatches packages.
  • Performs and executes job quotes for existing and potential customers.
  • Supervise deliveries and pickups for customers, ensuring that all shipping and customs documents are executed accurately and payments are properly posted.
  • Exercise prudent judgment in resolving disputes between staff members.
  • Resolve customer claims, including exercising independent discretion to resolve claims for damage to cargo, loads, and household goods promptly and fairly.
  • Train staff on how to provide excellent customer service.
  • Prepare accounting documents in a timely and accurate manner while maintaining an A/R of 90 days or less.
  • Manage and improve appropriate record keeping processes.
  • Meet or exceed operating revenue and/or gross profit and/or operating income goals.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and company quality standards are followed.
  • Conduct periodic inspections to ensure that all facilities, equipment, and vehicles are in full compliance with company and government regulations.
  • Handle all marine insurance issues.
  • Implement information security, safety, health, and fire prevention within the branch.
  • Conduct driver safety training, teach safe driving practices, and conduct safety campaigns.
  • Perform limited mobile operations, including supervising crews during peak season as needed.

<Requirements>

  • Must have a U.S. work visa.
  • Business level English, native level Japanese
  • Experience in the logistics industry (preferred)
  • Experience as a manager (Preferred)

Salary $42,000-45,000 (to be determined after interview based on experience)
