IT Specialist｜Japanese Food Wholesaler

＜Job Responsibilities＞

• Collaborate with third-party IT vendors to configure and install various network equipment and services (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, QoS, etc.).
• Act as the initial point of contact for all internal technical support related to computer workstations, hardware, software, phones, networks, operating systems, printing, and internet access.
• Escalate issues and liaise with vendors for resolution as necessary.
• Perform installation, upgrades, moves, and changes for computer workstation hardware, software, printers, CD-ROM drives, and other peripheral devices.
• Conduct network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations.
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware, phone operating system, network updates, maintenance, and repairs to ensure optimal performance.
• Monitor performance to ensure system availability and reliability.
• Monitor system resource utilization, trends, and capacity planning.
• Manage IT asset inventory and asset tag management.
• Manage and maintain the company’s software applications, including user authentication information, master files, backup files, and logs.
• Assist data entry clerks by inputting, updating, and maintaining information within our warehouse inventory database (Microsoft NAV).
• Provide Level 2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
• Operate within established configuration and change management policies, ensuring proper recognition, approval, and success of changes to the network infrastructure.
• Collaborate with the company’s security team for selection and implementation of security tools, policies, and procedures.
• Plan, design, and monitor security measures to protect the network systems.
• Maintain and manage firewalls, virtual private networks, web protocols, and email security.
• Collaborate with vendors and other IT personnel for problem-solving.

＜Requirements＞

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Computer Science or Information Technology) or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• Ability to travel out-of-state when necessary.
• Business-level proficiency in English and Japanese.
• At least 3 years of experience in computer networking.
• Availability for weekend and evening shifts when required.
