This MICHELIN ONE-STAR SUSHI RESTAURANT is currently looking for a qualified Sushi Chef (more than 5 years experience)

Candidates must have at least two years of experience, preferably in a fine dining setting. A valid food handlers card is also necessary.
SUSHI CHEF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- At least 5+ years of experience preferred.
- Expertise in fine dining service and Japanese cuisine.
- Must have excellent knife skills and attention to detail.
- Provide an exceptional dining guest experience and producing a consistent product.
- Must have prior knowledge in breaking down and preparing all types of fish.
- Must have prior knowledge in preparing and making sushi (nigiri, sashimi, as well as rolls).
- Able to work fast, organized, and efficiently (taking into account portion, cost control, sanitation, and cleanliness).
- Knows and complies consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
- Cleanliness and organized (i.e sharpening knife, keeping the station clean at all times).
- Excellent communication skills; Must be able to follow directions, as well as be a team player.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Other duties, as assigned by Executive Chef and Manager.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS:
- Must be able to work night shifts.
- Constant walking and standing.
- Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours)
- Ability to reach, bend, and frequently lift up to 25 pounds.
- Maintain cleanliness and good hygiene.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
