Senior Mechanical/ Chemical Engineer

The Senior Engineer will be responsible for all engineering design deliverables of assigned projects, including technical leadership, project management, and detailed mechanical design work, for all new and existing projects that require process facility development. Utilizing exceptional technical and project management skills, the Senior
Mechanical Engineer will develop, empower, and engage teams to solve meaningful problems and develop innovative solutions that drive customer value.

Proactive self-motivation, organization, communication, and team leadership skills will be critical for success in this role.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare and modify P&IDs, as well as design plant and equipment configuration, in conjunction with other disciplines and customer directives
  • Prepare and modify construction specifications related to all mechanical equipment and associated equipment
  • Interpret design requirements and provide innovative engineering solutions while incorporating safety, cost effectiveness, and serviceability concepts
  • Perform load calculations with industry software
  • Interpret and provide technical expertise in the various codes governing design and plant operations, including but not limited to, SMACNA, ASHRAE, OSHA, ICC, and NFPA, etc.
  • Conduct field verifications, prepare technical narratives related to scope of work and operational specifications
  • Provide management and other project stakeholders with information regarding project status and possible design conflicts
  • Mentor and guide junior engineering staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
  • At least 8 years of Mechanical Engineering experience
  • Professional Engineering license with the ability to gain reciprocate licenses in other states
  • Proficiency in design and calculation software
  • Knowledge of industry standards and accompanying policies and procedures
  • Exceptional team skills with the ability to communicate up as well as across the organization

Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. While performing this job, the employee may also be required to inspect the project and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions. The noise level on project sites may range from moderate to loud.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly sit, talk, and hear.
The employee is often required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee must occasionally reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift up to
15 pounds at times. Specific vision abilities include close vision and color vision.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday from
8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Some flexibility in hours may be allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” hours of 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Travel
Occasional local travel during business hours can be expected as well as short-term overnight travel as project demands dictate.

Salary: $100,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
