Sales Engineer (Remote Work)|Japanese semiconductor manufacturing company

A Japanese semiconductor manufacturing company in Chicago, IL is seeking a Sales Engineer position.

The job will be available for remote work. (Some travel required)

Will serve as a liaison in the sales process when complex and technical equipment and services are involved.
Responsible for preparing and conducting technical presentations of products and services to customers and prospects.

<Job Description>

  • Work with existing and potential customers to assess and understand facility needs and system requirements.
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of presentations and other documents and materials that describe products and services to customers.
  • Provide expertise and support to the sales department in communicating products, services, and customer needs.
  • Develop and maintain personal relationships with different prospects during the sales process.
  • May involve modifying products to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Suggest improved materials or products to customers and explain the benefits of the modifications.
  • Resolve problems with installed equipment and provide support to customers.
  • Prepare product orders and develop delivery schedules.
  • Assists in research and development of new products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent sales and customer relations skills with the ability to explain technical products to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to apply engineering, technology, or other relevant principles to product sales
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly
  • Ability to meet deadlines, excellent organizational and follow-up skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Occasional travel within the region to visit customers and see potential leads may be required.


<Required Education and Experience>

  • Engineering or manufacturing background required
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant product or sales experience preferred
  • Must have a proven track record of driving sales growth
  • Self-starting and self-driven
  • Must be comfortable working in a metrics driven environment, including reporting and improving business performance against quarterly KPIs and metrics
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).


<Applicant Qualifications>

  • Must have a U.S. work visa (OPT, H1B are not accepted)
  • Must be able to travel within the U.S.
  • Experience in grinding or machining is a plus.
  • Japanese language ability is a plus.

Salary $75,000-95,000+ Bonus (To be determined after interview depending on experience)
