A Japanese food trading company in El Monte, CA is looking for purchasing staff.

<Job Description>
- Manage supplier relationships and maintain adherence to product quality, delivery dates, and contractual terms and conditions
- Coordinate with department managers and purchasing agent colleagues to manage supplier relationships
- Issue purchase orders to suppliers
- Assist department managers in setting inventory levels for new items and new merchandise
- Research and develop products to be sold by the Company by tasting and evaluating sample products, visiting production companies, and working with the sales department and warehouse to understand customer needs and preferences
- Coordinate with group companies to negotiate discounts for bulk purchases
- Perform inventory checks to determine if there are any errors in the warehouse inventory
- Assist in the preparation of the annual Food Expo
- Participate in company events and functions outside of normal working hours, etc.
<Requirements>
- Bilingual Japanese-English (business level)
- High school graduate or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in business preferred
- At least 3 years of purchasing experience
