Outside Sales (Sake Department)｜Japanese Food Wholesaler

A Japanese food wholesaler in El Monte, CA is looking for outside sales staff for their sake department.

This is a long-term position with a company that offers a full benefits package!

<Job Description>

– Visit customers and potential customers to provide information on Japanese sake including sake and shochu.
Conduct educational activities regarding Japanese alcoholic beverages including sake and shochu.
– Maintain high customer satisfaction by providing excellent service and building relationships of trust.
– Work closely with sales associates to understand customer needs,
Explain to customers how our liquor products and services can benefit their business.
– Maintain and expand accounts in the retail, hospitality and entertainment industries.
– Plan and coordinate sake, shochu, beer, and whiskey related events.
– Attend various Japanese government promotional events.
– Work closely with management to expand the sake and other alcoholic beverage market.
– Attend weekly sales meetings.
– Assist with sake school classes and student enrollment.
– Coordinate with group companies and vendors to organize sake product fairs.
– Maintain and safely drive company vehicles in accordance with company vehicle regulations.
– Participate in semi-annual inventory counts on designated days (some weekends).
– May participate in company events and functions outside of normal working hours.
– Perform other related duties as assigned.

<Requirements>

– Business level English
– Business level Japanese
– English writing skills to prepare marketing and presentation materials
– Knowledge of Japanese food and Japanese food culture
– Knowledge of Japanese sake is a plus
– Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
– Extensive experience with graphic design/presentation software
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Must be able to handle frequent changes in job duties and workload
– Pass the Sake Advisor course within one year of employment
– High school graduate or equivalent education required. Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
