Office Manager | Major Japanese Gas Company

A large Japanese gas company in Houston, Texas is looking for an Office Manager. If you are an experienced Office Manager with a minimum of 2 years of related experience in business administration, IT, or a related field, they would like to hear from you.

 

<Job Summary>

The Office Manager directs and leads the organization’s administration function, including developing and setting strategy for the Administration Department and developing related tactical goals, plans, programs, and effectiveness metrics. The Office Manager also prepares budgets that provide the resources necessary to effectively execute the Administration Department’s tactical plans and operational activities, oversees and monitors Administration Department activities, and provides direction, supervision, and executive leadership to team members. The Office Manager handles a variety of matters involving Japanese expatriates and other matters related to the parent company and other subsidiaries. He/she is also responsible for developing activities to promote continuous improvement, enhance the corporate culture, and create a safe, comfortable, positive, and collaborative work environment.

 

<Requirements>

  • Must have a U.S. work visa.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Bilingual in Japanese and English.
  • Extensive administrative experience related to management, office administration, payroll, compliance, safety, etc.
  • Minimum 2 years related experience in business administration, IT, or related field.

  • HR related certifications (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • IT training and related certifications a plus.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively with employees.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations and related compliance issues, as well as relevant Japanese law.
  • Strong working knowledge of expatriate operations and legal requirements and related U.S. immigration process management.
  • Extensive administrative experience in employee compensation and safety programs.
  • Well organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication, people skills, and emotional intelligence in a multicultural office environment.

Working Hours Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, 1 hour lunch break (unpaid).
*Flexible work hours (4 hours or more per day) can be negotiated.
Salary $79,700 – $89,700 (to be determined after interview based on experience)
