Branch Manager Position (Illinois)

A large logistics company located in Illinois is looking for a Branch Manager position.

<Job Description>

・Engage in significant sales activities outside the office.
・Provide consulting to corporate clients to promote and develop their business.
・Review and evaluate financial performance data to implement strategic ideas to achieve branch growth and expansion.
・Recruit, select, develop, and retain qualified personnel to achieve growth and expansion.
・Evaluate performance, train subordinates for promotions and salary increases, and discipline, demote, or terminate employees as necessary.
・Improve the work environment, maintain workplace discipline, and enhance operational efficiency.
・Promote communication and teamwork activities within the branch and the region.
・Accurately forecast seasonal demand.
・Direct, schedule, coordinate, and dispatch drivers.
・Oversee delivery and receipt of goods to customers, ensuring that all shipping and customs documentation is properly executed and payments are properly posted.
・Exercise good judgment in troubleshooting and resolving problems among staff.
・Ensure compliance with all government regulations related to DOT, FMCSA, TSA, C-TPAT, and OSHA.
・Resolve customer complaints. Exercise independent discretion in doing so and resolve claims for damage or lost shipments promptly and fairly.
・Train staff on how to provide excellent customer service.
・Prepare timely and accurate accounting documents while maintaining accounts receivable balances within 90 days.
・Manage and improve appropriate record keeping processes.
・Meet or exceed sales, gross profit, and operating income goals.
・Ensure policies and procedures and company quality standards are followed.
・Conduct periodic inspections to ensure that all facilities, equipment, and vehicles are in full compliance with company and government regulations.
・Handle matters related to marine insurance
・Enforce information security, safety, sanitation, and fire prevention within the branch.
・Investigate cargo losses and cargo accidents.
・Conduct driver safety training, safe driving instructions, and safety campaigns.
・All matters necessary for the revitalization, growth, and expansion of the branch.

<Requirements>
3-10 years of experience as a forwarder
Bilingual in English and Japanese
Management experience: 2 – 3 years
Knowledge of logistics in the U.S.
Communication skills (teamwork)
Preferred Knowledge of CARGOWISE (a plus)
