【TEXAS】 Purchasing Assistant Manager｜Japanese Food Wholesaler

A Japanese food wholesaler in the Flower Mound, Texas area is looking for a Purchasing Assistant/Manager.
This is a long-term position with a company that offers a full benefits package!

<Job Summary>

-Manage purchasing of food, fish, and non-food products including procurement, price negotiations, transportation logistics, and product development.
– Analyzes and forecasts product sales and market demand and prepares purchase orders based on sales volume, demand plans, and inventory levels.
– Calculates product costs and prices and determines profit margins.
– Ensures product quality through sampling and customer feedback and works with suppliers to assure quality.
– Frequently identifies inventory discrepancies, large orders, poor selling products, and expired products and works with warehouse to resolve them.
– Develop and implement purchasing strategies to support the organization’s business goals.
– Review, evaluate, and assure that the quality of incoming goods matches the purchase order.
– Provide administrative and clerical support to ensure compliance with FDA and USDA safety standards (GMP, HACCP, SSOP, Vendor Program, Food Defense, Recall Program, etc.).
– Attend company events and functions outside of normal working hours.
– Other duties as required.
– Report to upper management as requested.

<Requirements>
・Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
・Business level English proficiency
・Business level Japanese language skills
・At least 3 years of purchasing experience preferred (food-based preferred)
・Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education required
・Knowledge of ERP systems, especially AS400 is a plus.
・Knowledge of Japanese food and alcoholic beverages
・Must have work status to work in the U.S.
・Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license.
