A Japanese food trading company located in El Monte, California is looking for a Purchasing Coordinator.
This is a long-term position with a full benefits package!
<Job Description>
– Coordinate with department managers and purchasing agents to manage supplier relationships and maintain compliance with product quality, delivery dates, and contract terms.
– Issue purchase orders to suppliers.
– Assist Department Manager in establishing inventory levels for new items and new merchandise.
– Research and develop products to be sold by the Company through tasting and evaluating sample products, visiting production companies, and working with producers.
– Visit production companies and work with sales and warehouse departments to determine customer needs and preferences.
– Coordinate with group companies to negotiate discounts for bulk purchases.
– Perform inventory checks as needed to determine if there are any errors in the warehouse inventory.
– Support preparation for the annual Food Expo.
– Occasionally attend company events and functions outside of normal working hours.
– Perform other duties as assigned. etc.
<Requirements>
・Business level English and Japanese (English only may be considered for those with extensive purchasing experience in the same industry)
・At least 3 years of purchasing experience
・Have a status to work in the U.S.
