<p>This position will be responsible for order processing, shipment coordination, and customer support while working closely with the sales and logistics teams. This is an important role that supports smooth communication between customers and internal teams.</p>
<p>This is an urgent opening, as the current person in charge is scheduled to transfer to the sales department in August. Training will be provided for approximately 6 weeks to 2 months.</p>
<p>Job Summary</p>
<p>The Customer Service &amp; Order Management Specialist will be responsible for sales order management, purchase order management, shipping and logistics coordination, and customer communication for a Japanese manufacturer.</p>
<p>The selected candidate will support customers through accurate order processing, timely follow-up, and smooth coordination with internal departments and external logistics partners.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A leading Japanese building materials company located in Glen Allen, Virginia is seeking a Supply Chain &amp; Logistics Specialist.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&lt;Position Summary&gt;<br />
The Supply Chain &amp; Logistics Specialist supports  end-to-end supply chain activities—<br />
from purchase order management and inventory control to product costing, logistics coordination,<br />
factory support, and office administration. This role contributes to improving operational efficiency<br />
across the company’s growing U.S. operations, including direct support for the Virginia factory and<br />
logistics center.</p>
<p>&lt;Key Responsibilities&gt;<br />
1. Purchase Order and Logistics Administration<br />
• Issue, track, and manage purchase orders for raw materials, finished products, and samples<br />
• Coordinate international and domestic shipments, ensuring accurate documentation and<br />
compliance with Incoterms<br />
• Communicate closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to monitor lead<br />
times and resolve shipping issues<br />
• Maintain accurate shipping records and update ERP systems (QuickBooks, Asana)<br />
• Manage return shipments and support claims processing for damaged or non-conforming<br />
goods<br />
• Virginia Factory Logistics Operations<br />
o Oversee all logistics operations related to the Virginia manufacturing facility, including<br />
inbound material coordination, inventory control, production scheduling support, and<br />
outbound shipment management.<br />
o Collaborate closely with production, quality control, and sales teams to ensure timely<br />
material flow and efficient plant logistics.<br />
o Develop and implement standardized logistics procedures at the Virginia plant to ensure<br />
consistency with corporate policies<br />
o Manage relationships with regional transportation providers and third-party logistics<br />
(3PL) partners to optimize freight cost, delivery lead time, and reliability.<br />
o Monitor and report on logistics KPIs specific to the Virginia facility, such as on-time<br />
delivery, freight cost per unit, and inventory turnover.<br />
2. Supply Chain Management<br />
• Conduct monthly inventory management, including cycle counts, reconciliation, and<br />
variance investigation<br />
• Calculate and update monthly product costs, incorporating materials, freight, warehousing,<br />
and other inputs<br />
• Analyze inventory data and vendor costs to support cost reduction initiatives<br />
• Support the Virginia factory team by sharing supply chain data, helping identify bottlenecks,<br />
and assisting in initiatives to reduce production lead times and manufacturing costs<br />
• Work closely with procurement and factory operations to align raw material delivery with<br />
production schedules<br />
• Maintain the ERP system with up-to-date inventory, lead time, and costing information<br />
• Generate regular supply chain and costing reports for management review<br />
• National Accounts Supply Chain and Delivery Operations<br />
o Develop and manage an integrated supply chain network to serve National Accounts,<br />
including National Chains, Modular Builders, and large-scale distributors.<br />
o Establish efficient delivery and distribution systems that meet national customers’<br />
requirements for project-based and high-volume shipments.<br />
o Coordinate cross-regional warehouse utilization, transportation scheduling, and<br />
logistics performance for nationwide delivery.<br />
o Collaborate with sales, production, and finance teams to align national delivery capacity<br />
with demand forecasts.<br />
o Build long-term logistics partnerships and implement digital visibility tools to improve<br />
delivery accuracy and transparency.<br />
o Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, cost control, and<br />
customer satisfaction in national account operations.<br />
3. Logistics Center Operations Support<br />
<span dir="ltr" role="presentation">•</span> <span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Assist in the practical operation and improvement of KMEW USA’s logistics center, including</span><br role="presentation" /><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">inventory layout planning, inbound/outbound coordination, labeling, and storage standards</span><br role="presentation" /><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">•</span> <span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Provide operational support for logistics partners (e.g., 3PLs), including daily communication,</span><br role="presentation" /><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">stock monitoring, and issue resolution</span><br role="presentation" /><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">•</span> <span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Help design and implement efficient workflows to improve inventory handling accuracy and</span><br role="presentation" /><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">reduce logistics costs</span><br role="presentation" /><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">•</span> <span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Serve as a liaison between the logistics center and sales, factory, and planning departments</span><br role="presentation" /><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">to ensure seamless fulfillment</span><br />

Office Administration</span><br role="presentation" /><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">•</span> <span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Answer and direct phone calls professionally; greet and assist visitors at the Redmond office</span><br role="presentation" /><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">•</span> <span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Manage mail, courier deliveries, and office supplies</span><br role="presentation" /><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">•</span> <span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Keep office areas tidy and assist with scheduling and internal communications</span><br role="presentation" /><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">•</span> <span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Provide general administrative support including data entry, document management, and</span><br role="presentation" /><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">translation if needed</span><br role="presentation" /><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">•</span> <span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Support other departments (HR, accounting, management) with clerical tasks as required</span><br />
